Power to Upper Bunk?

Looking to add power to upper bunk on a 154BH to have clock radio and fan plugged in up there. Its a new trailer so Im a little reluctant to start drilling holes, but think thats my only option. I'm thinking for now Ill just run a small power bar to the bunk, better to drill a small hole in bunk support and go to outlet in lower bunk, or carefully go through wall towards front of trailer and plug into outlet by door? I can use a couple of grommet covers to somewhat cover up the holes.

Anyone do something like this?

I wouldn't do it at all and certainly not with an extension cord. Use a battery powered clock and set a fan up to blow into the area from a safe location.

Electrical codes prohibit extension cords from being routed like that. And codes have been substantially beefed up in the last 2 editions in attempt to reduce the number of electrical fires - especially in sleeping areas. It often amazes me what people will attempt with electricity without much thought at all to the consequences of a mistake but wouldn't attempt to alter or repair their plumbing on their own because it might leak.

In my 264bhw the outlet for the TV is in the cabinet next to the upper bunk. I ordered an RV outlet and used a cut in box to tap that power and bring it to the upper bunk.

I drilled a small hole in the bunk to fish an ipod cable from below to above so the boy can charge the phone. A phone is all he needs and acts as an alarm clock. The bunks are also mod'd with 2 command hooks with a wire rack for holding phones and glasses.

Why not tap into the 12VDC light there and wire in a 12V clock and fan?
