Programmable Thermostat

I have a Jayco 2011 Eagle Superlight 298RES with the original Colman Mach thermostat (7330F3858 - photo attached). After some digging I got this wiring note.

Has anyone upgraded to a programmable thermostat (Heating and AC) and if so what model did you use and anything special about wiring.

I contacted Honeywell and they said NONE of their would programmable's would work with a 12V RV system. I doubt that is true but I did get a reply from LUX saying their TX100E had been used by others in an RV even though it says 24V as the programming runs from 2 AA batteries.

Would appreciate your experience.

Thanks

I bought a Coleman 83303862. Works great for my 2017 27bhs with air and furnace. https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-83303.../dp/B01M8LFHT3

I have done this is a couple of trailers . I can tell you for certain that any t-stat that is powered by batteries will work in a rv. I personally use a honeywell focus pro 6000. You will have to choose low or high for your fan speed in fan only but everything else functions as it should . Do a google search there are plenty of wiring diagrams out there . Here is one that should work for you .

myeagle - I have changed to the same Coleman thermostat mentioned by nisbotch. It was a little more expensive than Honeywell but an exact replacement, wire wise. I did that on my last 2 trailers and have been greatly satisfied.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

He said programmable. Otherwise yes the Coleman would be a nice upgrade.
