Propane (?) odor

Have had a noticeable odor just inside the door and under the sink.

Have had random gas detector alarms (maybe 3-4 times in 3 years) and it always clears / resets itself.

Recently disconnected propane supply to install an extend-a-stay...odor disappeared. Refilled the propane tank today and odor was back within 30mins.

A couple of assumptions on my part:
1) I have a propane leak somewhere in the line leading to the propane generator (located on the door side, and basically under the sink).
2) I have a leak in the propane line leading to the bbq grill quick disconnect (door side but further back).
3) Coach battery is off-gassing and creating smell (located directly behind door and immediately under the sink).
4) Its not a propane leak at all, just random happenstance near the time I refilled propane.

I recently bought a “gas sniffer” in hopes of finding or ruling out a propane leak. Also have leak detect fluid I intend to use on propane lines and connections *Note: have used fluid on connections at propane tank with no leaks detected.

Wanted to see if anyone has similar issues to help me in troubleshooting efforts.

Thank for your time. Happy camping (when we all can again!)

Did you crawl under and check each connection and anywhere it is attached to the frame or something. Never underestimate the power of a screw through the floor and into the pipe. Soap and water works well, flashlight and mirror to see top of joints or somewhere the pipe was bent to tight and has a tiny crack. Or if you have great insurance a match will find it right away.

I purchased one of these to detect leaks. Never had the need to use it on my rig but helped a fellow camper who was having a leak and it was spot on. The leak was coming from his regulator. The body was slightly cracked where one of the tank hoses threads in. New regulator cured the problem.

I had a similar issue... Most noticable when first opening door to come inside... Sniffed around stove... Smelled it there too.... Used soap solution on stove control valves... One was seeping just a bit.... New control valve is on the way, but installed shutoff at the stove line also, so for time being I just turn it on when using the stove since the leak is tiny and not an issue during use.

Yes...this exact same thing. Never thought about stove...duh...will check that today as well with both sniffer and LP leak fluid I have. Thanks for confirming I’m not out of my mind...at least not totally.
