Pup trailer mod to fit in garage

I bought a 2007 Jayco Baja 10y in December. Only
Problem is my city doesn’t allow to park in driveway even though I’m not in HOA. The overall closed length was about 20 feet with spare tire. My garage was tapped out at 17.5 because of fridge and washer/dryer. Before I purchased I snapped a bunch of photos and called around trailer and fab shops to see if anything can be done. A local popular trailer company said they can cut the a-Frame off and make it a straight tongue (more like a boat) they slotted like a hitch and receiver and used two pins that remove when parked. I slide tongue under camper once it’s in my garage (about 75lbs in steel though) Saved me
4 feet and towed like a champ. Had it out about 4 times now. Here are some pics

You could relocate the spare to the cargo tray or underneath, and gain that space if you needed a little more.

Builders are morons. They build a "garage" on a house. It's more like a carriage house from back in the day. Most people dont have a vehicle parked in their "garage" because they have too much crap stored in it. My builder said my truck would fit in a 22 x 22 " garage and wanted to install dual 7 x 7 doors. Nope, didnt happen. I wanted to go bigger at the time but couldn't. So I ended up with a 24 x 24 with 8 x 20 door. It just fits my 3500 crew dually long box and my Yukon XL.

I've seen straight tongue trailers that have a removable tongue or one that you merely pull a pin and it swivels to the side for storage. Both are pretty cool. My buddy has a 24' jet boat and his trailer came from the factory with a swivel tongue. I've had to work on the boat before and it just barely fits in my garage with the door closed.

Btw, nice mod!

Same here. We ended up doing 24x30 with 9’ doors on the big side. He kept wanting to say “most cars will fit in…”. I had to take him to the parking lot with a tape measure where my megacab was sitting before they would relent. After the conversation I got the whole, “I’m paying for it either way, so build what I want” aha moment.
