Replaced Door Latches on 19H Fold Down Beds

I have been wanting to do this mod for as long as I can remember. I finally found some of the latest and greatest latches at a RV Surplus place in Indiana. Normally they would cost about $50.00 each on-line, I got them for $30.00 each which was a nice savings. The old screw down latches were tired and not as secure as the new latches. The new latches are all keyed alike so I only need one key to lock all of them. No more Master locks dangling off my TT !!!! Thank God !!!! The installation was simple and sweet, no issues whatsoever.
Getting ready to pack up and head out for 12 days which will encompass close to 1500 miles.

Happy Camping !!!

Those look sweet! Much better than the ghetto screw knobs.

It looks great. Mine came with the latches you put on, but my latches are the other way so that you swing the latches down in order to open the bunks. Was that an option for you?

Honestly, I feel really stupid right now because I have no idea. It seemed like the right way to install them. I am sure I could do it either way but this is what I chose and it is 10 times better than what I had.

I have those latches on my rig, and they are really nice to use and very secure.

If you or your wife is a bit shorter, you may like having the locks a little lower. My DW hates to (un)lock the front beds as she just can’t reach them. She has no issues with the handles as she uses them as a pull handle to balance, and she does not worry about breaking a key off.

There is a rubber plug/cap that will cover the lock. My X23B (2012) came with these latches and one latch was missing the cap. I called Jayco and they sent me a package of 4 (wow, Spares!). I don't think they're mandatory but it covers the lock. From your pic it looks like you have a plug on the hole above the lock.
As cm11' points out and as it is on mine the bunk part is mounted with the latch pointing down but can't imagine why your orientation won't work.
