Replaced Recliners with Theater Seating

We removed the recliners that came in our Pinnacle and gave them to our Daughter and Son in Law.
Then we moved the Sleeper Sofa to the rear of the living area and bought a Lane Theater Seating Unit and put in the slide where the sofa was.
Now the Theater Seating unit faces the TV, fits great, sits great, we love it!!

That looks way too cosy. The color scheme is great. I'd like to replace our two swivel chairs with something more comfortable. Maybe two recliners. A better hitch will be the first thing though. My mind will be the first to get the comfort things, than the rest of me.

I looked at a dual reclining love seat recently but it would have taken a lot of work to make it fit in the TT I want (the armrests were insanely huge!). I suppose I could have one custom built.

I don't care for that built in center console because I like to be able to curl up on a sofa but then, that's me.

Did you secure the seating to the floor, or is it free standing?

It is Free Standing just like the Sleeper Sofa.
The only thing that had tie downs were the Rocker Recliners since they freely moved so much.
Our Theater Unit is a "Wall Hugger" no Rocker Mechanisim in it so it is very stable.

Very nice! Do you have a 'before' pic by chance? Just curious how big the ones were you replaced for a size reference, for my own unit should we ever go down this route.

Looks very comfy! I like my two recliners, but no drink holders or arm rests, thought about doing the same thing myself.

Sorry, I do not have any before pictures, but you can google a Pinnacle 35LKTS and see dealer inventory pictures that show original layout.

Update on our Theater Seating

Update on our Theater Seating.
Yesterday was the first time we brought the slides in and moved since we put the Theater Seating unit in our Pinnacle.
Glad I got the measurements right, closed the curbside slide with the seating unit in it, had about 3 inches clearance between seating unit and "L" Shaped kitchen counter.
Sleeper Sofa in the back by the big windows worked fine too.

We are at Disney's Fort Wilderness in Orlando for about a month now.

Rob, did you have to modify the sleeper sofa to get it to fit on the back wall of your JP 35LKTS?

We are shopping for a new 5th wheel and the Pinnacle 35LKTS is very high on our list. I was inside a 2012 35LKTS yesterday and the depth measurement on the sleeper sofa was very tight if it were moved to the back wall.

We would prefer the sofa on the back wall and the chairs opposite of the TV, like you did. I'll have to double check the measurements.

Have they changed the depth of the sofas or the position of the streetside slideout?

Thanks,

Russell

Russell,

Nothing has changed on the dimensions of the Pinnacle 35LKTS.

You are right, the entertainment center side slide will not clear the sofa, same with the recliners having be turned sideways to clear it.

What we do is remove the two back cusions from the sofa (They just lift off) and lift the front of the sofa up and stand it on its back.
The back of the sleeper sofa is flat and solid. (When the sofa is on its back it clears the slides with more room than the recliners do turned sideways)
Then I strap the sofa down to the anchor that is in the floor for the recliners tie down.

Works well for us and the sofa seems to travel fine.
It is not much harder standing up the sofa than having to turn the recliners sideways and move them up against the back wall.

Robert

Robert, thanks for the info.

I wondered how you pulled that off unless I measured wrong or the dimensions had changed.

I may have to do the same thing if we get a 35LKTS.

Thanks!
