Oh yeah, there's no fuses or breaker that controls the node. But like Tom said earlier, you do want to make sure your "master cutoff" switch is turned to "on". But I would be surprised if that would be causing the problems, considering you have power to other devices.

It does sound like its the main node and that it doesn't have any power or not powering up for some reason. Once you find it and test the power to it, disconnect it for a couple minutes and then see if it will power up.

The CANbus wouldn't have anything to do with power, however you could unplug those from it when testing. If you have anything plugged into them (mine does not) just make sure to plug them back into the same plug you took them out of. Those are labeled really well on the node.

BmPro cloud service

Is anyone else having problems connecting to the BmPro cloud service?

I've cleared everything on the tablet, even reset my password. Although the tablet connects to the cloud, it will not give me access to it.

Thanks everyone.

I usually have to go visit our trailer once a week or so just to hug it and make sure its not feeling left out. But more importantly its to kickstart the tablet to get the cloud connection working again.

I went over on Sat and by Sunday it was already not working again, this is odd.. Not sure if they are seeing some sort of outage or not. Everything at least appears to be logging in just not updating right now.

Thanks Tom,

At least it's not just me. Mine was working perfectly and then nothing. I'm starting to wonder if their server has gone down. After checking all of my stuff, I'm 99% confident that it's not my internet connection. I've even reset the tablet and reset the WiFi and Bluetooth on it; still nothing for the cloud.

Mine works fine as long as the tablet stays charged, lol. The only times I have had issues with the cloud is when Winegard decides to drop the Wi-Fi connection.

Tom, when you are hugging the tablet, lol, is it connected to whatever Wi-Fi you might be using? As long as Winegard is connected to it, it should work all the time. I had some issues back some time ago with our home connection. I had to run a signal extender to the camper. In the process of getting it connected to the network, it gave itself a new name, and sometimes Winegard would connect to it. of course, the cell is on the home network, and you get the idea. I fixed that by getting the Amazon eero router system, and no more problems. Do you get reconnected by kickstarting it? I presume you mean tapping on the screen/

The trailer always has Wi-Fi from the Insty Connect we use. I swap the settings on that every few weeks as well just to "exercise" each cellular providers SIM (one from T-Mobile and one from Verizon). Making sure they are working. I have cameras setup on it as well and check them daily so I know the Wi-Fi is always working.

Yes, just tapping the screen and "waking it up" is what I usually have to do. Sometimes when I do that the bmpro app is not at the front, it is running but has hung or something so killing it and restarting the app (not the tablet) gets it working again. I think the tablet is going to sleep.

I've had to play with the settings a bit as my DW is a vampire and cannot have any kind of light or she cannot sleep. We usually end up covering it anyway to stop the "screen glow". I think I need to go back through and make sure its set to never sleep again, just have to remember where those settings are. The Android tablets are a pain compared to the Apple on settings like this!

In my unit there is power running through an auto re-set CB for the node, it's behind the disconnect switch.

Morning Learjet,

I stand corrected then ... What model is your rig? I'm going to check my cluster of breakers to see if one is listed for the jaycomand.

Good info, thanks

Has anyone ever been able to confirm or not if a generic tablet can be used as the "controller" and still provide cloud access? I see some people begin testing this, and I've been unable to find a thread that confirms or denies if the cloud access can work with a generic tablet instead of the official BMPro one.

New tablet

My tablet has gone bad and not wanting to pay Jaycos crazy high fee if $600. The OP suggested Lenovo Tab E7 but I can’t find that unit. Has anyone else tried using another Bluetooth tablet that fits? Everything else works so I just need another tablet.

Unfortunately its the older tablets that will work and its getting harder to find them. You will have to scour ebay, Target, Walmart etc.. for some older 7" tablets but make sure that the power port is in the right place and type, or some modification will be needed on the JayCommand housing.

With that being said a iPad or any other tablet will also work and provide same functionality just not inside the main case.

Also watch ebay, they sell on there every now and then for around $250ish.

See if this will work for you. As said you may need some modification. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/table...-3/wmd00000465
