Safety Struts and Generator Tray

I have been researching this Mod for a long time. When I sold my truck and now use an SUV to pull my X23F I needed a better solution to haul my generator and gas cans. The company claims that with their struts you can carry 400 lbs on the stock bumper. The struts screw into the frame and support the bumper transferring the load from the two weak connections directly to the frame of the rig. It took a few hours to install the struts, assemble the Trays, and get them installed. So far I am really happy with them but need to take a road test to really make sure the generator is solid when strapped to the tray. Let me know if you use these and your experience.

I’ve had them on mine for about a year. I also carry a generator on a rack. So far so good. I’ve checked everything periodically, nothing loosening or coming apart.

I've added the struts so would feel very comfortable with a bike rack. Developing a cargo tray as well but that's WIP.

Generator and firewood plus the weight of the carrier. Between 125 - 150lbs if I had to guess. Nowhere near the 400 the struts are rated at.
