Screen Door Toilet Flush Handle

By request by others, I’m attaching some more pictures to show how I added a toilet flush handle to the screen door. I used one made of plastic but I suggest using one that has a metal rod. That way you can bend the rod as needed in order to make contact with the screen door handle. I had to use a heat gun to slightly bend the plastic on mine.

I also have a flat washer on the back side as you will see in one of the pictures. I intend to change it out with a smaller washer but the larger one is all I had at the time.

Nice mod. If I didn't have a door opener mod already I would do this one.

Thank you for the pics. It looks like something I would like to do to our trailer.

We were driving to the tt when I started a conversation with the wife about this thread. She could not understand what I was trying to explain so I said I would show her when we got the the tt. Well fast forward she unlocked the door to the tt while I was unloading the car and she came over and asked why would we remove the one already there and put a toilet handle in its place... Yupp our tt already had the screen door handle mod. New 2012 330rlts....

The mod looks great except for one thing. Your missing the chain. I actually had thought of the same idea but my wife couldn't get past the idea that it was a toilet flush handle. I just bought the real thing from CW yesterday. The CW one doesn't come in chrome!

I had one of Bills handles on my old rig. The new rig had a different door. A quick call to Bill Steele and he sent me one that was made for the new door with the "flat" sliding piece.

I bought one of Bill's screen door kits, too. It has a built in spring to return the handle to the proper position. It's a neat design. Another thread

That one costs $19. The toilet handle was under $5. Call me cheap!

The toilet handle has enough weight on the handle side that it swings back to the upright position without a spring, or at least mine does. I think the secret is to keep the rod as short as possible.
