Sewer hose storage

Without the bumper storage, what are some good ideas for sewer hose and coupling storage? A bin? Pvc pipe?

I use a very large, clear 'baggie' that holds sewer hoses and the various Camco rhino sewer hose fittings. It was the best way I found to use a tall storage area that had a small door.

Actually 'the baggie' was to be a temporary storage solution, but has worked well for about 3 years now.

If you have clearance, many have mounted a plastic 6” fence post protector underneath. Search the mods for sewer hose storage for many ideas.
Especially if you don’t want that stuff in a storage compartment.
All material can be purchased at Lowe’s and made as elaborate as you want. Mine is almost the width of the rig and carries a 15’ and a 5’ section of hose and adapters.

I used the slinky that came in my “starter kit” once and immediately bought a Sewer Solution which I’ve used for 5 years or so. I store it in a plastic tote and it lives in the basement when not in use. I cut holes in the tote sides for ventilation. It lived in the shower of our HTT before the 5th. Never any odor.

Large plastic tote will work. Can also put your gloves, hand sanitizer in a small tote to have right next to it.

I went the pvc pipe route as I don’t have a bumper i put it across the front of my trailer

I have a 6in PVC pipe with screw on ends fastened under the frame next to the outlet. I have 4in gutter inside that with my RhinoFlex sewer hoses in that. The gutter is used as a drawer. Smaller pieces of gutter that I use as hose supports when at a FHU site.

Used 6" black PVC pipe never lost a hose in seven years!

Fence post cover mounted to the frame, right beside the sewer connection. (note: zip ties were temporary, is now mounted with metal strapping bolted around the frame).

I use an old gym bag for my sewer hose. It has worked well I put the disposable gloves and 45 degree clear couplet in there. It has worked well for three years.

I don't understand what is wrong with the bumper. I use a rhino hose, put it in the bumper, never had a problem in 20 years

Not all trailers have a square bumper. Many of the ultralights have a C-Channel steel bumper instead. Many motorhomes don't have bumpers either.

Correct, mine does not have a tube bumper.. I did modify ours last weekend. My Jayco had a dedicated sewer hose box near the back outside shower but it was only about 2ft deep and the newer hose colors would not fit.

I removed the old round PVC, cut out the original square door, enlarged the opening just a tiny bit and out a 4ft square fence post PVC in its place. Attached the old door to it with some silicone and gorilla tape and it holds two sections of hose!!

I have just used a 5 gallon bucket and keep the hose coiled within it. The reason I used the bucket vs the bumper, is my bumper tube is steel and the inside is rough and over time will wear the hose down. I like the PVC ideas mentioned as they will have a smooth surface on the interior of the tube. Overall the bucket works great with my storage situation.

Our new rino did not fit into the number. Mounted a 5 Ft 6” pvc with screw ends on both side of the pipe. Drilled drainage holes on the bottom. Cut two pieces of wood that fit the curve of the pipe and straight part of the number tightened it to the bumper with screw tie Dow rings. Hold my black house with the rino. Carry a small plastic tool box to hold fittings and gloves. Worked great all summer.

5 gallon bucket/lid just like mjgibbs. Everything fits in it. Fittings on my hose are too big for the bumper. Walmart for less than 5 bucks. Easy peasy

I use a square, lightweight plastic bin that has a clamp on top. I rinse hoses well at dump so I've never had smell problems. During camping time and after I get home I slide the bin under camper, lid ajar, so it dries out.
This one is about 24x28x32... holds a short and long hose and my clear elbow and angle adapter. Works great for me. Fits in crawl thru.

I use 5” plastic fence post. Mount them under the trailer. With 5” u can get ur sewer connecton in them

I use a PVC fence post, bolted to the frame, for the primary hose and fittings. The spare/extension hose and fittings are in a plastic tote.
