Well I shaved my "ears" today as well and now the Rhino fits in the bumper. Another dilemma solved inexpensively thanks to the forum. -Lee

That is awesome! From your earlier post I was thinking about this, but after the pictures it is a definite! I was afraid it would not look that great, but this looks fantastic.

Thanks to Mike for posting the photos and giving tips about this mod. I just finished it on my new 19BH. Took it out for the maiden voyage yesterday and the new stinky slinky holder worked great!

That is great, I carry two hoses. 1 is 15' and the other is 20'. I have to borrow your idea.

If the weather ever warms up here and the rain quits I will be adding to my sewer storage also. I like the idea of a long and short hose. On our old trailer I drilled a hole in the middle of the bumper and dropped in a bolt so the hose would stay in reach. It looks like I have things to buy and do if the rain ever stops.

Excellent job guys! I have the thin "U" shaped bumper and will be making a shorter version of this to store up under the rear of my TT attached on the frame rails. Im going to paint it black to blend in aswell. May have missed it but thats a fence post sleave for a 4x4 post correct?

My sewer hose holder is almost identical to the one shown in the previous posts except I mounted mine underneath the trailer right next to the sewer dump. You will need a 4 3/4" fence post cover for this to work. The 4" covers will not be big enough as that is the same size as your rear bumper. I found my post cover at Lowes but Home Depot and other hardware/construction stores would probably have them also. You also need to get the fence post caps to cover both ends. I glued one end cap on and used zip ties as hinges and a pin to hold the other end on. Pull the pin and flip the cover down. I also used a piece of vinyl rain gutter as a "tray" to slide the sewer hose out. It is a fairly inexpensive mod to keep your sewer hose isolated from everything else.

got mine installed today up under the camper just behind the black water tank. it tucks up nice and cant be seen unless your down low. my camper sits pretty low as it is but i made sure it was atleast a few inches higher than the tanks and skid bars. total was about $33 at Lowes. I used two simpson 2' foundation straps to secure it to the frame. pretty solid but will eventually add a strap in the middle and paint it all black. I added two quick disconnect pins on one cap and glued the other (as others have in this thread) also drilled holes in the caps and along the bottom rear edge for drainage/air flow. I was able to fit a pretty long hose with ends, rubber sewer seal and step down adapter in the holder. thanks for the idea everyone and the added storage room under the bed!

I've got a "Sewer Solution" and think it's the stuff.

Thumbs up

What size is the pvc fence post you are using. I have the same sewer hose, and I also have the same TT. Looks like an easy upgrade for me. I am not very handy, but I think I could do this.

Use the larger of the two you can find at Lowes/HomeDepot/ I believe its 4 3/4" across. the smaller 4" one does not fit the hose couplers and ends.

Just completed this mod on my 27bh. I love it! This was very easy to do and pretty cheap as well. The wife took a look at it and said it blends in nicely as well. She was pleased with my work which means "when mamma's happy, everybodies happy!" Thanks for posting the pictures mikefos, they were great for showing me how to do this.

I just purchased a Rhino kit with the new "swivel" fittings at Canadian tire. Everything fits into the 4" rear tube bumper perfectly (exept the big orange adapter) without having to dremel or modify a thing....I just throw the adapter in a Ziplock bag and toss it in the storage compartment.

Thought #1: Holy cow, that's overkill.
Thought #2: I should copy this. It looks useful.

Thank you very much for the idea, mikefos. We just completed the sewer hose modification, below are some pictures:

New "bumper storage" - notice no tie straps or u-bolts were used to secure the item.

The two Levelour curtain brackets were used to provide a second mounting point on both ends of the storage.

The brackets were disassembled and the L-bracket portion was secured to the bumper support on the camper

Here's a picture of the fence post with some of the bolts securing it to the camper bumper:

Next, two pieces of PVC gutter were cut in 3' and 4' sections. A small bungee cord was secured to one end.

This piece of gutter becomes not only a drawer for removing the sewer hose, but also the hose support when you are at a "full hookup" site

I have this Camco hose. It's well made and fits inside the rear bumper.
