Shore Power
I installed a shore power inlet on the 23B last night. It turned out really nice with the hardest part being putting a 2.75" hole saw to my trailer. The folks at Jayco kindly provided a print of the rear wall so I was able to avoid internal frame members.
The inlet was moved from the side of the trailer to the rear for at least 2 reasons. Had I kept it where it was, I would have had to make an adapter plate because the new inlet was smaller than the factory power hole. The other reason was that a centered location would put it closer to the converter meaning I'd have more cord left over for my pigtail. Also by putting it on the rear wall, there is the benefit of being covered by the rear bunk when it is deployed.
The parts came from Jamestown Supply, the brand is Furrion and are as follows:
F30INS-PS Shore power inlet 30A 125V square non-metallic
F30FMP-SY 30 amp female connector
F30CVL-SY 30 amp weatherproof connector cover w/ threaded ring
The parts are of very high quality materials and workmanship. The inlet will allow the use of both threaded ring style and bayonet style connectors. The lid of the inlet also has a bright blue LED that glows when power is applied.

This is shown on my new Outback, but I did the same thing on a previous Jayco trailer. I cut a piece of King Starboard large enough to cover the existing cutout and set the inlet in the Starboard. It kept me from having to cut another hole in the trailer.

I went to the local RV salvage store and bought a rather large about 8 x 8 access hatch ($3.50) to put where the old power inlet used to be. This will take advantage of the cavern where the cord was previously wadded up in. I can put my sewage hose with the big 90's in there nicely. I'll try to post some pics when (if) I get the time.

I want to do this as well but was told need to wait until the 2 year warranty is up or it could void it on converter and that has been replaced once all ready.

definately nothing wrong with your install. That will stop up another mouse hole as well. Who knows what all climbs up inside your trailer using the pull out Shore Power Cable laying on the ground when in use.
Having never looked into this before I assume the Shore Power Cable is a standard cable with the screw on plug on the end. Think I have seen them for sale at a couple of places... Probably some of us have lost one to thieves along the way as well.
My fifth uses this screw-on type and the POPUP uses the pull out type...

I like this mod...was going to do it but my dealer suggested I wait till warranty is over just in case. However, i did look into the product. Dang the adapters are expensive. Any ideas?

Shop around. I got my cord cap and the shore power outlet from Jamestown Supply.

There are so many advantages to a shore plug as illustrated. I really do not know why Jayco does not make this a standard on all trailers.
Easier than pulling out a jammed cord
Easier when packing up to leave in bad weather
Prevents critters from coming in, have never seen a cover from the pull out cord that remains closed.
Just so much simpler. Made this conversion on my last two trailers with no regrets.

You can say that again! I jammed our old HTT's power cord a couple of times where it got twisted over itself inside. The X20E has been better but the space in there is really tight so the last couple of feet can be really hard to push in.
I'll have to put this mod on my list after the warranty expires!

No. If you are re-using your existing hole its super easy. If you are re-locating the inlet, make sure you contact Jayco with your VIN and they'll send you a PDF print of whatever wall you ask for so you can avoid hidden frame members. Then you obtain the proper sized hole saw and go to work.
Measure 3 times, drill a 1/8" test hole and if its clear proceed with the hole saw.

Didn't notice this mod before. Just found it when it became active again. You really did a great job! Looks just like the power cord on my Eagle. Well done!
