There was a very long post (3 pages) on this topic earlier this year - with lots of people doing different mods dealing with shower valves, check valves, etc. to solve the "hot or cold right after turning shower back on" problem.

See it here: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...tml#post402436

The search function on this site is an amazing thing!

Good point, I did install a check valve in my hot water feed to the shower and it helped some with the blast. I am thinking of also adding one on the cold side to see if it completely fixed the problem.

I installed a shower head with a on/off valve on it.
Seeing as how we only have the shower stall and not a bathtub I also installed one of these http://amzn.to/2b6jRMJ

where the line comes out of the "Faucet Valve Diverter". One thing I don't like is hopping in the shower and having to adjust the water temp while I'm in there. So with this thing installed, I can divert the water down (like a faucet) and get the temp the way I want it! I'm planning on running a short piece of PVC pipe down to bring it closer to the shower floor (less splashing).

Another vote here for the Oxygenics - the "Trickle" of water it leaves running completely solved the super hot / cold restart with our Camco head...

I thought our Octane shower was missing that valve too. Turns out you just turn the shower head.
