Shower Updates

Shower updates
I made a couple of changes in the shower.
First we added a new shower head with an on/off valve like everyone else.

But I hate standing in the shower and trying to get the temperature correct while avoiding getting sprayed on.
And with the current arrangement if you open the door, you're going to get some spray in the bathroom.

So I installed this little valve right off the main spigot.

I then threaded a small plain shower head onto this valve.
Not only does this allow me to get the temp right before I jump in, but it's
perfect for just washing your feet or your privates while leaving both hands free!
It's also useful for bleeding off that super hot water you get when you turn off the shower head for a minute to lather up.

Thanks for this - we had done the upper shutoff for the past labor day trip. The extra valve will solve the quick burst of very hot water.

The Oxygenics Shower Head eliminates the burst of hot / cold water after a pause and provides a pretty decent water stream as well. Although this method is much cheaper I'm sure...

It did not in mine because the hot water pressure was greater than the cold water pressure and the shut-off is after the water "mixer". So, I installed a check valve in the cold water line so that the hot water couldn't back up into the cold water line..

Agreed. But at least it wouldn't hit us in the face!

For sure, and it somewhat works for me as it bleeds some of the HOT off before I switch it back to up-top shower mode, but that was a side effect.
