I have these on our TT, I put them on 1 1/2 years ago and when I moved my camper last august they were lighting differently with the first 12 leds being all colors, just tried them last weekend and they are the only ones that now light up

Our Jayco,
Do you mind sharing where you purchased the LED light strip from and what brand you went with? I've been searching forever and seems to be a vast difference in price on these and they all look the same!

Thanks!

LEDs

BTW - The answer to my question on extending the cables from the lights to the storage box was: CAT-5 cable. A brilliant idea. I'll get working on that next week. Thanks!!

FWIW, here are the lights I purchased:

Cannot thank you all enough for this thread!!

Lights: $20. Future DC wiring: A couple bucks.

Changing colors via remote control from the fire pit: PRICELESS!

(yeah, ignore the temporary AC stuff stuck to the side of the trailer. I'm wiring it into either the porch or step light fixture this weekend)

LED awning lights

(Follow up.. wouldn't let me edit the one above)

Lights are up and working on AC. Dimming capability is wonderful!!

I'm waiting for a 4' ribbon extender cable to arrive. Once here, I think I'm going to mount the IR module inside my porch light & stick the IR receiver out one of the top grates (need to notch out part of the amber cover to do this.

Then I'll tap into the porch light DC to power the unit. Fingers crossed.

You can save yourself a few bucks by buying the kit that does not have the power pack with it.. these lights operate on 12VDC, so if your at a campsite your battery is being charged anyway and if your boondocking running an inverter to power the lights just wastes power.. I got mine from Amazon with out the power pack for about $12.00

Similar situation here. Put on a couple years ago and they worked last October but as of today only about 2/3 of the lights work and only half of them show the correct color. Mine are installed on the roller tube, not on the RV sidewall.
