There are 6 there if you look real close... but the last 2 are hard to see... I called Jayco about the tongue weight and they said it would be OK but to watch the welder heat when attaching the framework so I do not take the temper out of the frame steel.... For short trips I usually just leave all 6 in place but for long ones like my 2000 mile migration I take 2 off till I arrive

I think I want to start out with just a couple of panels to give me 120WATTS of solar power. I am also thinking about four T105s for 425AH of power. Will probably mount those in a 48-inch diamond tread box with locking lid on the trailer tongue.

I do very well with my smart mode converter/charger camping off the power grid and running four 85AH batteries (340 AHs) with an 1500Watt PSW inverter for the AC appliances. We run everything we do at an electric site except air conditioning and high wattage microwave. We carry an cheap $35 microwave from Walmart just to warm up the coffee when camping in the woods.

I have to re-charge my batteries everyday using my 2KW Honda generator for 2-3 hours run time when allowed to run at the camp site. Solar power will just add to this...

Thanks for the info, I hope to get more solar in the spring. Do you have LED's?

.
You would be better off (cheaper) if you go with a single 135 watt panel.. make sure your charge controller is big enough that it will handle more than the one panel... once you go solar you will HATE your genny...

Roy,

I found Jack Mayer's web site this morning and spent some time reading through what he had. There's a lot of good info there on solar especially. Here's a link to a presentation he gave on RV Solar and Electrical from the 2011 HDT Rally:

http://www.jackdanmayer.com/Files/Pr...10_17_2011.pdf

I think you will find some good tips on the solar end of things.
