Sound bar installation
Finally had some time to install and wire up a sound bar. It is a great improvement to the tv audio and in addition it has blue tooth so I can play music from the iPhone.
First pic is the tv in the up position and the sound bar mounted on the bottom of the cabinets above it.
Pic #5- is the end result of changing a single outlet box to a double to power the low voltage sound box.
Pic #2 is the sound bar close up. Its mounted with 3 "L" shaped brackets attached to the box and the cabinet. Spacing is to make sure it is in a solid cross piece in the bottom of the cabinet.
Pic #3 is the rats nest behind the radio. Since my tv moves I had to run the sound box wires over the valence and down the left side thru a 3/4 inch hole to tie in to the wires that normally connect the tv audio out and the radio audio input. I used some connectors from Lowes to get all of them tied together and also another going to mu wireless headphones on the right of the shelf.
Note that I secured all the cables with some long tie wraps to prevent them coming loose. Works like a champ.
Pic #4 - Note the rf filter on the audio line coming from the tv.
