Space in between rear fold down couches

Hello,
We recently purchased a 265th. We love it, especially the storage capacity (ATV, kayaks, bikes, etc.)
But one minor inconvenience that Jayco implemented was the gap between the two fold-down couches. I believe it was purposely done so there would be a gap for easy access. But it is highly uncomfortable for anyone taller than 5 feet.

I had an idea to make a cushion that fits in the gap and add a second pair of legs to the table to support said cushion.
I am just wondering if anyone did anything similar.

unfortunately no. We ended up getting an air mattress for our guests. We camped in the mountains for a week or so and that worked quite well!

Revising an old thread because Jayco still does this. Forest River's fold up couches come together when folded out so you could replace them with theirs. Another option is a board from frame to frame with a cushion or pillow to fill the gap. I am attempting this route on my new 265th and will post after with photos.

Anyone have any tips or previously done modifications, please chime in.
