STEADYfast - Impressive

Our 26.5BHS did not look friendly to a STEADYfast install so I hesitated making the purchase. I ended up taking the plunge and am very happy I did. I can barely detect the DW walking to the bathroom at night now. Not much more than in a stick home.

It did take some effort to make it work. It started with setting back the spare tire by moving the holder back as far as possible. That provided a clear space in front of the landing gear for the STEADYfast but meant the hold down would have to mounted to the front most steel angle and the storage area pan instead of the frame I-beam.

I could not use the curb side since the spare tire crank tube was in the way. The mount on the street side was also a challenge because of the fresh water tank position. I ended up placing the hold down in the reinforced area at the slide rack.

The rear holder mounting proved to be the easiest since a 2x2 tube welded to the frame was positioned well.

It's probably my next big purchase, but it also might be a while.

Well, I'm joining the Steadyfast Club. Ordered it today. I'll get it next week, but I expect my trailer will still be getting worked on for a month. Who knows.

Nice job, I went with the BAL brand and just love them. Steadyfast, BAL or JT's Strongarms, they all do the job. It's the first thing I would do to any future camper I have.

Likewise on the positive review for SteadyFast. Put them on easily but also had to move the under spare tire back a few inches to allow the stabilizer rod to function. I don't get complete steadiness as eow indicated but it's quite an improvement.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Good to hear all the positive results. I don't remember why I chose steadyfast over the other two. I had done a bunch of research and then I put them on a list as my final choice. But I do remember thinking I couldn't go wrong with any of the three choices.

I went with Steady Fast because of mounting limitations on our FW. The Steady Fast only uses three bars whereas the others use more. That is probably the most important consideration when deciding between the various offerings.
