Storage rack under steps

Read about this mod on the forum. The fun part was I had never welded before . I purchased a welder, bought steel from a fabrication shop and it took about 4 hours to complete. Have already had it out on one trip and the welds stayed solid.

It was fun. I purchased an inexpensive welder from Harbor Freight, spent and few hours reading and practicing and did OK. Had a friend who has welded for years look at them and he said not too neat but they will hold. I think my next project will be to build a second battery storage pan so I can carry two batteries. I still am surprised that they don't create enough space for two batteries. Seems like a very critical component.
