Not sure but maybe. Does anyone else with a 50Amp surge protector have a humming sound?

Mine has never made any noise but you may be noticing your converter fan noise.

I could hear it when I finished connecting it and put the power back on. That was up close and personal, and then I went in to the camper, near the rear bunk, I could hear it

I have the 50 amp surge protector installed in the same location. After the install there was a noticeable humming noise. Emailed progressive and below is the response I received.

There can be some humming from the unit, one cause is debris from manufacturing in the relay/contactor. First I would suggest, using a tool to mechanically cycle the contacts rapidly. With the power to the coach off, use the tool to move the black square up and down rapidly several times. Also remove the cover ( It has the white label and is held down by two small screws ), check for and remove any debris. Also humming ( The 60 hertz power will cause some humming ), can be amplified by the surface the EMS mounted on. Light weight, thin non-rigid or floating ( press fit, not glued or screwed down ) surfaces can resonant and increase the volume of the humming. Placing rubber washers ( Like flat faucet washers ) under the mounting flange screws, can reduce the loudness.

So I received the same answer.

Since the AC frequency is 60 hertz, it is not uncommon to a hear
low hum from the unit. The mounting of the unit can sometimes increase
the volume. Try the following:
Follow the instructions and remove the contactor cover and clear any
debris from manufacturing. Reinstall the cover.
Locate the black square in the center of the contactor label, with power
off, rapidly move the square up and down several times. This may clear
debris from the working parts.
Mounting surfaces that are floating or not stiff enough may resonant and amplify
the hum. Try placing rubber washers under the mounting flange at the screw holes.
This raises the unit off the mounting surface and reduces the contact area.

I guess they must be talking about this cover with the white sticker and 2 screws. I would hope nothing is in there with power going through it. I guess I will have to tear the back apart again and see what is going on.

So this afternoon, I took the panel off, turned off the power, and opened it up. I removed 2 screws as suggested. I found nothing in there, so I blew any dust or particles out, and put some rubber feet on the bottom of the box. I got the rubber feet from some switches at work. I fastened it down again, and the hum is less noticeable. I also made sure there was no exposed wires like in the first post I did. Thanks for the suggestion.
