R U Tired of the "Rock n Roll?"

After last weekend's trial run, and almost getting motion sickness when parked, I installed these two products on our White Hawk 20MRB today.

BAL X Chock for wide stance axles:

BAL Locking Arm Stabilizers:

Reduced the rock & sway by a good 85%. I would put the Locking Arm stabilizers on all four corners but can't be done with location of waste dump. So, I put them on in opposing corners. Really helps!

(Note: I lifted the photos from an auction site. The auction is not mine. I bought both items at CW.)

We used these on all 4 corners of our old camper. They work great! Our new camper is getting slide stabilizer jacks to help with the side to side motion we get when our kids roll over in their bunk slide-out.
Happy camping!

Anybody install either the JT strong arm or the ball stabilizers with the electric jacks?
Wondering if they work well since it's almost at the same angle as stabilizer arm and not forming a triangle.

Have the X Chocks. Have to try the arm set! Looks like it would work great!

Ok, I hope this isn't too silly of a question, we bought a set of these x-chocks and since our TT is new, we aren't experts by any means. DH put them on the one set of the wheels and the TT was rock solid. Is it 100% necessary to do it to both sets of wheels? He had the regular yellow wheel chock on the other set of wheels. thank you!

That's why they come as as set... One for each set of wheels... Is it necessary ? Not really, but why not use what you bought and get even better stability.... The X-chocks act as a stabilizer and wheel chocks... You can never go wrong by having extra support..

We have the x-wide x-chocks and they came individually. What you say makes perfect sense and that is what we shall do. Taking it out on its maiden voyage this weekend!

I would also keep using the standard chocks, since you shouldn't install the x-chocks until unhooked and level.

I bought x-chocks (actually a pair of yellow, Camco 'Wheel Stop' - much cheaper) primarily because my standard chocks didn't grip the leveling boards I use. My other chocks would sometimes slide on the boards making them virtually useless and creating a potentially dangerous situation - thinking the trailer was secure and have it move unexpectedly .

An added bonus, the Camco Wheel Stops eliminated virtually all of front-to-rear movement so reduced that portion of the trailer movement.

This is the first time I've heard that leveling and disconnecting should be done before installing the x-chocks/Wheel Stops.

So... my leveling procedure has been...
Level TT from side-to-side using boards.
Install Wheel Stops on both sides.
Disconnect from TV.
Level TT from front-to-rear.
Lower TT stabilizers.

I could, if necessary, try releasing then re-tightening the Wheel Stops to remove any tension. I'd rather not do that due to the risk of having the trailer shift.

I have a set of X-Chocks that I use - I've lent them to friends in need and they promptly went and bought their own shortly after. A little on the pricey side but worth it - not just to reduce the jigglies but as a safety feature when faced with a particularily uneven site.

BAL X-chocks state in the written instructions (that I couldn't find online, but mine are in the trailer) that you are to unhook and level the trailer before you set the X-Chocks. IIRC in the written manual, it says they are not designed to hold the trailer in position on a grade (as regular chocks are).

Here's their Youtube vid on installation and features; at :48 seconds the narrator says "after unhooking and leveling your trailer..."

Tired of the "Rock n Roll?"

It's very dangerous to not chock. If I used x- chocks, I would have to carry traditional chocks to keep the rig from rolling away.
I use Roto-Chocks.

Purchased years ago.

They last forever.

I just use a couple of pieces of fire wood to temp chock the trailer while I get everything else sorted, disconnected, leveled etc... then I put the X-Chocks in place and the fire wood returns to it's previous role.

These Roto-Chocks look cool but a bit cumbersome - probably no more than the X-Chocks though.
