Travel Trailer Entrance Door Locks

I know the storage compartment locks are the same from unit to unit, but what about the entrance doors? If they are same from unit to unit, has anyone replaced theirs and where did you get the new locks?

There is a lot more variety in doors keys compared to storage compartment keys. Look at the keys for the two doors. There should be a 3 digit number, probably beginning with a 3xx. If the number is the same for the keys for the two doors, then the keys are the same. I have seen more than 50 different keys for FIC locks.

Where you get replacement locks depends on the brand of lock. Again look at the key, it probably says FIC or Bauer. FIC is Fastec Industrial Corp, Bauer is Bauer. I recently got a new 2013 Jayco Eagle. Each of the two doors had a different key. I got a new lock from Bauer that matched one of the locks I already had. Now both doors use the same key. I have a like new Bauer lock with a 313 key for sale in the parts for sale forum.

To follow up with what Tail_Gunner says, check your 3 digit code on the key. You should be able to get the corresponding key cylinder as well.

If Tail_Gunners' lock and keys don't work for you, here is a link to the company I used to get replacement keys and cylinders for my X23B bed end locks.

I was thinking about that. But to do change the key cylinder, you have to have the appropriate tool or hire a locksmith. I have the FIC "Blue" cylinder removal tool that works on some FIC locks. I did not have the ability to change the key cylinders for Bauer locks. So I just got the entire lock with a key that matched one of the locks that came from the factory. FWIW, I think it's really stupid that Jayco can't match the door locks that they put on units with two doors.
