TST Tire Monitors

Well we’ve finally decided the peace of mind while towing was worth the investment. Although seemingly pricey, I’ve seen the damage first hand that a blowout does to a TT. We’ve got a big trip coming up so I’ll keep everyone updated on how I like the system when it comes. It doesn’t hurt that they have a discount code coming up this weekend for Fathers Day for 15% off their gear. I’m excited to be able to glance at a monitor and know my rig is ok instead of hoping everything is fine. I’ve hit potholes in the past that have made me cringe and hold my breath waiting for the sound of shredding rubber. Hopefully having a system to alert me of sudden air loss can avoid damage if it ever happens again. I know it doesn’t take the place of constant inspection and maintenance, it’s just another tool in the Arsenal for successful adventure. If your interested the code will be FD15 according to the whispers on the net
AARP will follow my install and trip.

I felt the same way. However on a recent 2+ week trip I lost signal to the back right trailet tire (receiver is on the lower left corner of windshield) about 5 times. I ordered a repeater yet to be installed. My truck is a crew cab longbed and 22ft long and the trailer is 33ft total length.

Thanks for the feedback, your making me feel better about the purchase. Looks like the new kits all come with repeaters so I should be good!

I agree on the repeater, I think. I have a WhiteHawk 33 RSKS (37’-4”) with a Tundra (19’-1”) and as long as I keep fresh batteries in them (very easy to replace) there has been no problem the the signal. But a repeater will certainly help!
Just the peace of mind made the purchase price very palpable to swallow. The only issue I have is make sure you have a stainless steel valve stem.

Saved me from having a tire tear up a wheel well.

So does robkelly. I called TST a few weeks ago because I was occasionally losing the signal to two of my sensors. Their recommendation was a repeater as the sensor signal is only good for about 30'. I also learned that they are shipping repeaters with all new systems now. Mine cost $50, but haven't lost a sensor since installing.

+1 on the TST system. Anything one can do to enhance peace of mind while towing is number one on my list.

I have the non flow thru sensors in my TST 507 setup, no repeater and haven't lost a signal yet. Darn things are sensitive tho and the alarm will wake the dead.
