TV mount - DONE

Hey modders! I wanted to share my project which worked nicely.

I added a TV mount to my Jayco on the interior wall which separates the bunks from the entryway. This is a hard wall to mount too, as it's all hollow.

So with some ideas elsewhere on this board, I went with the trophy board method. I got this pre-routed pine board from Hobby Lobby, unstained. The thinking is this: rather than bold a TV mount right to that wall (the mount screw hole pattern is only in one vertical axis), distribute that lateral load by mounting a board to the wall, and then the mount to the board.

The hardware for the board to the wall are 1" sex bolts (yes, that's what they're called, stop giggling), large pan heads.

All said and done, it's very solid! Ideally, I'd love to not have to take the TV down and re-attach each time, but I'm sure the driving vibration will be horrible. Perhaps some long velcro strips to strap it to the wall while driving?

Looks good!

Not sure how much it weighs but you might consider a washer on the bunk side to help distribute theweight out. These walls don't have much strength to them.

Good thought. Keep in mind that the "nuts" of these sex bolts bottom out at 1". They can't be tightened any more past that. I didn't want to crush the wall in the process.

I think your idea of velcro strips is a good one. These trailers are subject to a lot of bouncing. Hate to find your tv on the floor!

Easy way to secure your TV while traveling, just attach a couple of cable clamps to the wall and then strap the TV in place with a bungee cord. That's what I have on both my TVs and it works great. I prefer the flat bungee cords.
