Variable speed range vent fan

Has anyone looked into changing out the noisy fan that comes with the stock range hood for something quieter and variable?

I'm just thinking about it and maybe can get some info from others experience.

I replaced the light with a LED bulb. It got voted down as to dim for cooking so back to incandescent, thank you Mr. Edison.

Yes, that would be nice. I will say that our range fan does a strong job getting the heat and steam out, but a variable speed would be sweet.

This one was a match to color and brightness - at least against our original bulb.
