Wall Studs

Been camping all my life but this is our first TT.

Looking at doing some mods in the bathroom for more storage, like putting up a medicine cabinet. How do I go about knowing where the studs are in the walls? Is it like finding a stud in a normal wall? Or is there a cut sheet or diagram where the studs are located?

Thanks for the help!

Email JAYCO and ask for the framing schematic.

I used a stud finder in my unit. Worked great.

Don't forget that the "studs" are not 2 x 4 and may be 2x2 or actually 1.5 x 1.5 inches when you buy your screws.

Did this 3+ weeks ago and I'm still waiting for a response beyond the acknowledgment email.
I'd like to add a vent over the bed area of our 236TH, if it was framed for it, along with adding some shelving on the street side of the garage area.

If your trailer is built like mine, look for the rows of staples that attach the wall panels to the studs.

Yes.

You can also look for where the staples are covered up with some sort of spackle patch material.

Also, where the taped over between the wall panels is a stud.

You can also tap and press and find the studs/voids.

Many will have aluminum studs in the walls. A Studfinder will also id the location.

If it's more than a week then either resend the email or call them directly and talk to someone about your needs. I got schematics the same day when i called them.

x2. I have requested wiring schematics as well as structure/framing outlines and they are always prompt, never taking more than a day or two to give you everything you need.
