Window Tint

Wife and daughter don't like the window in the bathroom door of our Whitehawk. The window is not clear, but you are still fairly visible at night time. So I have been tasked with tinting it. As the window surface is not smooth this is an experiment. Anyone had success deep tinting a bathroom window? I have attempted with a product from Gila. Will let you know what happens

Or try Black Chrome spray paint.. it is a translucent paint and may be what you want (Duplicolor) as usual try first on a bit of waste glass.

Our door windows have reflectix foil / bubble insulation velcroed on to both our door Windows. Blocks light, view, and heat. I'll be changing out both door Windows with dark tinted safety glass cut by our local glass shop soon. Either way, the cheap and easy way is relectix, found at lowes.

You'll be hard pressed to tint the inside of the stock widows due to the texture, thus better off just covering them.

If they are glass windows go to a hobby store and buy some glass etching solution. Use it to permanently etch your windows with a design or make the entire class opague.

Or buy a window covering from IKEA for $19.99 fits right on the valance. This way you still have the same amount of light when needed but also have privacy other times.

This shade is on my front door window because I installed clear tinted glass and have the shade for night use.

On my old RV, pulled the glass, had it tinted on the smooth side, reinstalled with smooth side in. Sure the textured side is out, but that just needed a little extra sealant between the window's frame and glass. No issues so far been almost 2 years now.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I will give a try to taking the window out and tinting the smooth side. Worse case is having to remove it if it doesn't work

Just remember, the smooth tinted side goes inside now. I went to my local automotive window tinting shop and schmoozed the guy into selling me just enough "limo tint" to get the job done. That way I do not have extra being wasted. Higher quality stuff too.

Lowes and prob Home Depot have window film with various designs. We used it on a bathroom window in our new home instead of a shade and it is great. Not expensive either. Easy installation too.
