Its over 1000 lbs tongue weight dry. I am sure its even higher now but what can I do about that? When hitched up my front end only rises 1/2 inch without the weight distribution bars loaded. Brakes worry me more than hitch weight..

Re: 2013 33 rlds

Ya it will b likely around 1150 ish on the hitch. The storage should b at the rear and not the front lol. Brakes r not an issue on mine but I had to watch the weight on the rear axle. I got it all legal but it took a bit of jugling in terms of the weight in the front storage. Totally loaded im 16100 pounds truck and trailer. It pulls easily and stops easily. We parked it on a seasonal site last fall which was our plan but it was a pleasure to pull. How r u finding towing it with the chev. I find I had to carefully place my weight and hitch set up to b legal but the ecoboost has tons of power and gets great milage towing.

My Avalanche is rated for 12,000 so it tows it great. I like how the big block rarely revs higher than 3 Grand even up steep, long hills. My previous Avalanche with the 5.3 would be at 5 grand pulling a camper that weighs half as much. lol. I only been on one trip with it so before the next one I want to check the camper brakes and make sure they are adjusted right. What is the legal status you speak of? I assume rear axle weight limit? I am not aware of or considered I could be not legal.

Don't worry about the brakes. The trailer brakes if set up properly will stop the trailer.

We have a 2011, pulled by a Excursion. It pulls great, stops almost on a dime. Sometimes going up hill the Excursion starts to whine a little but haven't had a problem yet getting to where we want to go. We love ours.

We only been on one trip with ours but love it so far. It rained alot and the extra room in the rear living area makes rainy days not so bad. Everybody is not on top of each other. Before our next trip I will adjust the brakes. I never thought I was going to crash or anything and it may just be getting used to the extra weight over our previous camper, a hybrid..

Just got back from our second trip. Heading out I smelled brakes burning. Even with the brake control turned up all the way. While camping I read through the instructions for the Prodigy brake controller and forgot about the boost settings. I set it for max boost of B3 and no problems going home. It starts the voltage higher on the intitial braking over the non boost setting and continues to increase it. It also leads with the trailer brakes first. Feels much better...
