Assategue Island NP & Janes Island SP

Spent a week @ Assateague Island NP, a couple of weeks back. Weather was great except of one night of 50-60 mph straight winds. It moved the back of the Trailer over 1"!! Great site, as you can see we like to have open sites. This is on the Bay side. Saw the Famous Assateague Ponies, Deer, Raccoons, Turkey, & many other animals & fish. Second trip there with the WH. Left Friday for Jane's Island SP about a 50+ mile drive. Great campground (thanks Crabman) and we are planning on going back. Great Crabs & Seafood in the town of Crisfield.

Assateague NP looks nice as well, no hookups there if I recall? Have camped at Assateague SP in H loop. That`s one tough ticket to get reservations for even a year out.....

That's right, no hookups. Ran the Generator twice for about 2 hours each and that was fine for 6 days. 1 site in the H loop opened up a week before but we decided to stay in the NP as it was all the way back in the Loop. Excellent views in the NP helped drive that decision

Could not believe how 'dead' Crisfield is. They had a Freedom Fest Saturday night and it was sparsely attended. Only 3-4 restaurants open & this was the weekend before the 4th. Still planning on going back to do some kayaking & fishing
