It's on the south shore of Long Island, very close to where TWA Flight 800 went down. There's actually a memorial there.

The campground is at the local county beach called Smiths Point. Deer are numerous there.

lol

We'll be taking it out of storage this week to get it prepped for the first trip of the season in two weeks. My brother and I are taking our father to a local campground we haven't been to yet for a guys weekend and to familiarize ourselves with the TT again. We only got it in September.

Well, the kids aren't mine. They belong to my brother who is manning the grill in the pic above. My wife and I are still kidless. lol

Our parents are in the same pic and are the ones that purchased the trailer to spend more time with their kids and grandkids.

Hey everyone. My brother and I took our Dad out to kick off the camping season. We went to a local place about 15 miles away on Friday and just got in this afternoon. We all wanted to get reacquainted with the camper since we only got it in the fall and are still new to the game. Anyway, here are some pics!

A few hours after setup.

We ate like pigs. Shell steaks, Old Bay seasoned shrimp, sauteed mushrooms, green bean casserole and corn bread. I made the corn bread and shrimp before heading out and the green bean casserole was simply Green Giant frozen side dishes.

I'm assuming these are raccoon prints we found all over our chairs the next morning. Can anyone confirm what the animal might have been? Our garbage was strung from one of our EZ up tents so they couldn't get it anyway.

We bought our Dad a power jack for Christmas so we brought out the tools to install it. We did have to run to Home Depot to pick up an eyelet and crimper because they only gave you bare wire to attach to the battery. What a great investment though. Easy up, easy down!

Lunch the next day, marinated chicken and marinated beef kebobs!

I never had ice cream while camping that didn't come from an ice cream truck. It was great just to grab a Klondike bar from our freezer!

My brothers wife and kids took the trip out yesterday. This was the highlight of their day! Don't worry, the thing is brand new and we have never used it so it's clean. lol

Lunch for everyone. BBQ'd chicken cutlets, corn bread, the kebobs pictured above, hot dogs, bratwurst and a broccoli and cheese frozen side dish.

We had a few deer sightings. You can see two of them in the middle of the picture if you look closely.

All in all everything went well. They were predicting rain from Saturday morning till Monday. Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day and it only rained a few drops at night. The ground was dry when we woke up today. About an hour before we left at 11am it started to drizzle but was nothing bad. We had actually packed just about everything up the night before in case it did rain. All we had to do this morning was get the inside of the trailer ready and hitch up and go. Everything else was done.

My brother and his family went out yesterday for 4 days so I tagged along yesterday and just got in. Here are some more pics.

Here's our view. It's a water view and the ocean is actually right behind me in the picture behind a dune. You can hear the waves. If you're lucky enough you can get a site that has the water view we have as well as the ocean view behind me.

Here's a shot of my nephew staring out into the body of water from above.

Here's a shot from the dock in the above picture. You can see where the campers are in relation to the water. The ocean is just to the right in the picture.

Some deer in the parking lot.

Our site. The ocean is right after the campers in the top of the picture.

We ordered the super high wind popup gizmos and installed them today. I'm curious to see how the work.

Definately raccoon tracks plus you said they strung out your garbage. Those critters will make havoc out of your camping trip for sure. You all sure eat well. Now I am hungry.

Thanks for the info. Figured it was raccoons. The trip with all the food was the first trip of the season. My brother and I took our Dad out for a guys weekend. I was in charge of the food so I went all out. Everything came out awesome!
