Memories of our Jayco Jay Series 1207

Well, apparently there are some who feel this forum isn't getting used enough We just traded in our 1207 for the X17Z, so I thought I would put up a few pics of our 1207.
Almost makes me sad posting these, we have lots of great memories from the two years we had the 1207, but we are looking forward to using our X17Z.

I don't have very many pics of the camper, but here is what I could dig up. Not sure why, but our youngest seems to end up in half the pictures.

These are all from 2011. This is one of our first campouts at the Prairie Ridge campground which is part of Lake Rathbun.

Here we are at a local county park, this would the last time the awning would look like that, I forgot to put it up and we got caught in pretty good thunderstorm that night. Needless to say, the awning flipped over the camper and was basically toast.

And a few 2012 pics. These are both from Lake Keomah State Park, which is about a 5 mile drive from our home.

I enjoy our 17Z, but our 1207 was enjoyable as well. I heard this comment many years ago about boats: The smaller they are the more they get used, and they go more places. I think that can be said about TTs too. We had our 1207 stored in our garage, and it was easily moved by one person. There were many times we made a spur-of-the-moment desicion to go camping, and we were on the road within an hour. And sometimes I still miss that "screen room" feeling. I don't miss the awning.

Since I couldn't find many 2012 "camper" pics, here are a few pics from Memorial Day weekend last year. This is at Backbone State Park, another really cool Iowa state park. The small one is my grandson who went along for the fun, he is our "camper in training". BTW, ignore the date/time stamps on the pics, we have three cameras and half the time the date isn't set right.

We do the spur of the moment thing a lot, that's one reason we wanted the Z, sometimes it felt like we spent more time setting up/taking down than actually camping, mostly on the one night campouts though, if you are there for a few days, it's not a big deal. We pretty much have it down to needing to pack clothes and food, then we are gone, like you said an hour or less and we are on the road.

Very Nice.. Brings back memories whe our kids were little. We had a 1996 1207KB fully loaded we bought brand new. Had some great times. Now the kids are grown, so we've upgraded to a 308RETS on a seasonal site and a 17Z for those weekend get aways.

Thanks for sharing and enjoy!
