onan cooling

Question about cooling when exercising my Onan 4000. 80 degree day, parked, and I want to exercise the Onan. I'll plan to run it for like an hour. Should I leave the cover on or off? Should I leave the outer door open or closed?

Never run it with the cover off...Door open or closed doesn't make much difference.

We always start ours and let it run for a few minutes to warm up before putting a load on it. We run it for about an hour with a load, and then remove the load and let it cool and come back to an 'idle speed' before shutting it down until next month.
