Curb side front wall all closed up awaiting the filon. I was replacing my dusk to dawn high pressure mercury vapour light with a LED & while I was up there took this picture of the 5th wheel.

The curb side rear side I finally got to put a piece of luan on it. This wall had all the electrical both AC & DC. in it. Insulated it with roxul. I think I will be fibreglassing the front next week. Finally.

Curb side boarded up. One note for prosperity. When I set the height for the rear maker light on this curb side I measured the centre marker light. On the slide side & the curb side. There was a difference of almost 2 inches in mounting height. These are still original on the coach. I guess someone had a off day in 1997. Luckily an easy fix in 2015.

Impressive!

I was just looking for a thread about caulking and sealing as I want to do some preventative maintenance when I came across this thread.

Your workman ship is fantastic and like others have stated you will enjoy the finish product much more then you would have if you bought new!

Can not wait for the last pics when all is done!

This was the last piece of rot that I know off on the trailer that had to be fixed. I waited until now to do it. Not a bad fix as I have to cold weather package on this trailer insulation was behind the 2 x 3. Aluminum was stapled to the underside to keep the insulation in. Finished it off with 1/4" luan & now the curb side is closed as far as the plywood is concerned.

Suspense is killing me. Can't wait to see the filon on it. Curious how you're going to seam it. Expansion joint, trim?

No. Briefly using a grinder, create a small valley between the 2 pieces. Again using fibreglasss cloth run through fibreglass resin & placed over the seam created by the grinder. Sand smooth & apply another coating of resin with fibreglass strands which you can buy & add to the resin. It's hoped that when all the filon is patched together you won't be able to see the seams per say. The entire coach will be painted after all the patching is done. Nothing too complicated if you have used it before.

You answered my question. Was wondering about painting. I've done fiberglass work, just not on that kind of project. Sounds like how I'd have done it. Can't wait to see it. I'm loving what you're doing.

Foam roller using Rustoleum. Seen it done, looks good. Foam brush works well use to paint the hull on my 1964 ChrisCraft Consellation that way. If done carefully it dries like glass.

Well work got in the way. Off again now so with the 20C weather in November I got ready to finally put the front piece of glass on. Or making a new awning on the front of the 5th wheel... I was ready & built the little jig & then went & got the glue from the basement only to find that when we tried it last time the spray gun wasn't locked in the seal position. The hose has some glue in it. I spent 4 hours trying to open it up. Tomorrow I need to get some acetone & braze another coat hanger together & try to open up the hose. Apparently tomorrow is 18C but Saturday is a chance of flurries. So its tomorrow or nothing.

The top portion I got on today. The sheet is big. Nothing to hold it. I screwed in down on the roof & let it waterfall down. I'll let it dry then glue the bottom piece on. Then using the trim router whack the sides off.
