No, I am a union electrician for the past 34 years. I have had wooden boats since I got married 30 years ago. Wooden boats require very good accuracy. My last one was a 1964 Chriscraft Constellation. 34 foot mahogany plank hull. I have all the proper wood tools minus a thickness planner I sold a couple years ago. Jayco has been good while I have been doing this as I got the build drawings off them. I have made slight changes where I wanted a little more support. Interior wall paneling could not be matched so vinyl paint later to make it a closer match will have to do. I bought this farm a year ago& for me the shop is the best feature . I can finish this inside. It was tough doing it with a tarp covering it up every night. I enjoy doing this as its mine. Sometimes I have had to pull it apart farther than I wanted but it's the way it's built.

I'm a retired union millwright, I had 31 years in the trade. Like you, I also like working on things like that.

Got the framing done on the curb side front wall almost. Paneling in place inside, window routed out & frame back in. As I said before the wall panels don't match but painting with vinyl paints later I expect to get a closer match.

The only negative thing I will say about this trailer is the way they did the front under the overhang. They just put on a skin of aluminum underneath & in front where the cargo doors were. Dumb thing is they used putty tape around the door frames but nothing not silicone or putty nothing to seal any of the aluminum. So it was inevitable that it would rot around the front. Hence the pictures. I also have decided to put only one of the cargo doors back on.

The front is back together. Solid as a rock. Fastened to the steel as it should have been. Screwed, stapled & glued. Solid.

Just chilling today. Really the temp went down to 6C. The front is now solid on both sides.

Finally got around to replacing the rotten front cieling. The interior cieling panel had to be placed as well. The wiring is back down the front wall so I am starting to put the insulation back in the front wall. I should be able to put the plywood back on in a week & then put the fibreglass back on the front.
