10 days and nights in the 184BH.....

we've been at The Land Between The Lakes on the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lake for the past 10 days. got home after lunch today, put everything away and it's hot.
daytime temps were topping out high 80s to 91+....our 2012 184 has the 5K A/C and during peak temps, the inside never got above
82/84, this would be from 2 to 4:30 PM.. nights were actually too cold and would hover around 72-74 inside after adjusting the temp/fan. first morning we woke up and it was 67 inside...wifey no likey...too cold... all in all, it was a nice time, no problem w/the trailer or any of it's accessories...oh, and also learned after the fridge initially gets cold, turn the temp knob between 3 and 4, it will ice your veggies if left to run on #5....mornings were great for kayaking on the river and mountain biking on the Canal Loop Mountain Bike Trail....

LBL, thanks for the report on the 184 5k a/c. Our new 184hb 2013 has been a nightmare experience. We are supposed to be getting our TT back from the shop today. We'll call this morning and see if they are finished with it, travel to Lebanon, have them run it and hopefull bring it back home. They had to put in a comletely new a/c. We are still concerned about the a/c being able to cool the unit. Your experience has brighten my day. We're going to try to put this behind us and finally spend our first night in the TT soon. Don't know if LBL will be our trial run again...but looking forward to some adventures. Thanks again for the information.

LBL, we just came back from a trip to Paso Robles, CA where daytime temps were in the low to high 90s. The AC which I think is a 7K in the 2013 185RB worked fine the whole time. We found that we needed to anticipate hot weather as the day we did not turn it on early enough took forever to cool. The next day we switched to air prior to the interior temp reaching 80 degrees. That day the TT was comfortable all day. Saving grace in Paso Robles is the nights are cool, down to low 60s. Opened the windows after sundown and slept cool.

that's great and glad you enjoyed your trip. I think your AC is actually 8K, but regardless, hot is hot and I agree with you, a little planning/anticipation. these ACs work okay...glad you had a good time. I was in that area a couple of time in the 70s.....enjoy and happy camping.....

Ditto Chuck. If you let the trailer really heat up it can take a unit that is even working properly a lot of time to catch up.
