199 awning

I have a Jayco 199 and the awning collects water from rain
while it's in the stored position. Anyway of keeping this from
happening?

They all do it, I minimize the stains by keeping my TT a little nose-up while in storage so the water doesn't settle in pockets.

We no longer have long term storage but when ever we are in rain I try to open the awning as soon as possible so it can dry out.
