2010 Jayco Jayfeather 28R aftermarket tires...

Greetings,

We have been pretty happy with this lightweight camper. I have come to terms with the fact that the black tank sensors are not that great and the low ground clearance is annoying but I have learned to live with it.

I have been thinking about stepping up in size on the tires next time around to gain another inch or so. Anybody done this? Currently the TT comes factory standard with 20575R14 but that dang fender skirt opening is so tight. Will the manufacturer even answer this question if I email or will the reply be a standard one?

Also, the rear skid "braces" seems to be a Jayco product and I don't see them on many other TTs. Anybody remove them as they seem to touch every now and then in a dip.

//Cheers

Jayco will not recommend any modifications, I can pretty much tell you that. I'm not familiar with that trailer so I don't know if 15's are possible or not. Our 17Z has the same size on it now, IMO 15's would be to tight in the wheel well.

As to the skids, you really don't "need" them, I would say if you remove them, to make sure you always have the rear stabs down before going inside. I think it's very unlikely to tip one of these, but I've seen cargo trailers do it, I would not want that happening to my 17Z and even then, not sure how much good the skids would do.

I don't have any experience with the sensors yet, that's still new to me.
