Additional Fresh Water Tank

Has anyone added an additional fresh water tank to their trailer?

I have a 2010 Jayco 213 which only has a 22 gallon fresh water tank.

I'd like to add another 20 gallon tank underneath and plumb the two tanks together.

We never travel with water, but it would be nice to be able to fill more water at the campground upon arrival.

The grey tank is 30.5 gallon and the black is 20 gallon.

We use the outdoor shower often to wash the kids feet, etc.

Looks like there are places online to buy a tank, just wondering if anyone has done it? Any info/tips would be great.

I have a tank that I have used in several 5th wheels. I put it in the basement and hose it to the panel. Yours would not be that easy but well worth the work to have the extra water. Good luck.

I bought a water tank that I can throw in the back of my truck. I put some PVC plumbing, a valve and a garden hose fitting on it. It's not heavy when empty and I fill it when it is in the back of my truck. With the tank in the truck at a higher elevation than the water fill for the trailer's tank, I can gravity transfer and refill the water tank in the camper by just using a regular water hose. By having this setup, I can take the truck and fetch more water without have to breakdown the trailer and haul it up to the water station.

This came in very handy with our old trailer, it only had something like a 35 gallon water capacity. Our new Eagle has a 80ish gallon water capacity so I won't be needing to chase more water very often.

I carry two 5-gallon fresh water totes with my off-road POPUP trailer which has a 35-gallon fresh water tank on-board.

That usually keeps us in water where we go. I like having the two 5-gallon totes along with a two wheeled folding cart which allows us to to go fetch water at the bath house when we need more.

I also carry two of the 7 gallon AQUA-TAINER totes we use to capture our sink water and use the two wheeled folding cart to haul them off to the bath house and pour down their toilet when full. Just another daily chore routine keeping up with the fresh and gray water usage.

I use 55 gallon plastic drum in the back of the truck and a small Dc water pump. This has worked fine when I camp with no water hook ups.

What I do is similar to Roy's solution. I just bring along some extra 5-7 gallon water totes to fill up if needed. I use a 120v pump I picked up at Home Depot to transfer the water from the totes into the TT FW tank.
