Air Conditioning and Heat questions

Hello very new to TT, but we have picked up a used 2008 Jay Feather Sport model 165, we decide if this is an activity we would like. So I have the TT in my driveway connected to generator power and we are making sure everything works, and I think I have an issue with the AC unit and it not blowing cold air or when I change the thermostat the does not change to heat. I figured I might have to put some money into this so the question is what maintenance can be done on these units and should I just take it somewhere to have it looked at?

My 2006 165 has a thermostat above the heater and the air is controlled by the thermostat built into the air conditioner.

It may need charging, if the charge is slightly low the low pressure switch will not let the compressor run. A local HVAC company can help.
