I haven't had that water problem with my 213 that I know of Quantum. I have read a few different threads on water overflow issues. Maybe do a search on the forum and you might find what you are looking for.

How about it RoyBraddy, did you pull the trigger on a X213?

I just found this thread - here I thought it was just our 2011 X213 that had what we perceived to be slide "issues" last year. On the first night of our week+ vacation to Montana we had the same issue as discussed - our slide stopped about 4-5" short. I could crank it out by hand, but what a pain. And then each time after that if it did go all the way out (short of us playing around with it back and forth) it never really seemed like it settled up and in at the end like it used to.
After getting home we took it to our dealer, they lubed it up real well and said it was working fine. Next time out, while better, it still seemed like it didn't quite finish out and seal if you will.
I'm going to see my dealer in about a week or so at our local RV show, I'm going to put a bug in their ear about the slide motor or breaker. I too would concur that at least on our trailer, it seems like the clutch is kicking out too soon. And I agree, it seems like a slide of that size is underpowered.
Having said that, we LOVE our trailer. After moving up from a Jay Series popup, there's definitely pros and cons, but we're looking forward to getting our "summer semi" back on the road in 2012!

Hi All, new to trailering and looking for my first travel trailer. This one looks like it would be perfect for my young family due to size, tongue weight and hitch to bumper length. Is anyone using a WD hitch?
Can any of you post the prices you paid?
I see MSRP is around 25k for a 2012.
Looking online I have found a few dealers asking around 20k for a new 2012 as a starting price, so that means to me you can go lower still!
Doing some research, I have read that it is pretty common for a dealer to get a travel trailer for 60-65% MSRP across the industry, sometimes even lower if they order many, or "specials" from a certain production run.
Does anyone think one of these new could be had for $15-16k for a base model?
Thanks!

Others have said that 30% off MSRP is doable. And don't overlook a used unit that's only 1-2 years old. We did that with ours and saved quite a bit. Of course, from the minute I walked into it, I said to myself: Self, did anyone ever use this trailer?

We got a sweetheart deal on our 213. We bought in Sept 2010, and it is a 2010 model. Someone bought it, kept if for a couple months, then traded it in for a bigger unit. It was parked in line with all the new 2010's and I thought that it was a NEW unit. When I asked why it was so much cheaper than the new ones, they told me it was used. Well...needless to say that helped make our decision.

We bought a 2011 x213 last September for $16,500. It was a year-end close out. Friends bought a 2010 x213 at about the same time in 2010 for about $1,000 less.

Anyone use one of these with a WDH?

We tow our with a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. It tow really well, considering its a CUV/SUV. I'm very happy with the trailer/tow vehicle setup. I use a Reese WDH and a friction sway control. That is what was included when I bought the unit. I'm happy with it, other than the noise/groaning of the friction sway control.

That's good to hear, my vehicle is a VW Touareg, the wheelbase is 6 inches shorter than yours and that is my biggest concern, the wheelbase. However the truck weighs 5500lbs and can tow 7700lbs with a max tongue weight of 770lbs. I also know people that tow 27ft airstreams with these but I think they are crazy + they have air suspension which I am sure helps. I only have steel springs.
What specs are your Reese WDH? (max tow weight, etc.)

Well. our X213 is now in the driveway and boy......it is larger than I thought. We absolutely love this trailer and can hardly wait to go camping. One trip will be in June for our 30th Wedding anniversary for sure.....but we are talking about a trip in May now....never would have considered it in our PUP....It was so sad to see it go with all the memories we had with it.....I have been really going over our new TT and finding all sorts of cool features, such as the digital TV antenna on the roof. I thought that it was analog and that would be useless in Canada. Bot do I have a lot of manuals to read

Dual 6V batteries on Jay Feather 213
I am thinking about adding two 6v golf cart batteries to my Jay Feather 213. My only concern is the limited space on the hitch, especially when compared to many other TT. I was wondering if anyone had such a setup on the same TT that they could post a photo or two of.

Just looking at that area in front of the propane tanks, it seems like it would impossible to fit two.

I am thinking of doing the same thing and it is really tight. I think I can make it fit but I might have to go to the soft propane cover to do it. I know a RV mechanic that sells the battery box for the conversion so I am going to measure it when I am at work tomorrow. I might have to fabricate a plate to replace the existing battery mount. I will let you know how that works out.

Well, I borrowed the battery box from my my friend Al at Al's RV to see if I can make it work. I don't think that I can fit the box on....without doing some custom fabrication.....I think that I will wait until after the camping season is over
