Congratulations! Last Spring I bought a 2008 197. Very nifty little trailer. This summer, my wife and I stopped in at Virden,MB to see if they had a 197 with a slide-out. They had a 2012 and were quite anxious to have ours, so we took the 2012 home. The slide (or pull-out, or slide, or whatever they are called) makes a huge difference inside! I didn't even get both feet in and I decided we had to have this one. The 2008 was like new, and hadn't likely been towed anywhere. The 2012 is entirely different inside, aside from the pull-out.
So far, I haven't found any problems or defects. I am definitely going to make either doors or drawers under each side of the bench seats. The storage area is accessible from inside, but you have to take the seat cushions off.
All in all, Jayco has vastly improved the 197. I'm not sure if the pull-out is optional, or if all 197's have it now, but it it well worth the extra cost. I am looking forward to taking some little excursions after harvest. I am running a half million dollar combine (1 of 5), harvesting just over 20,000 acres.
Enjoy your 197!
