Cool Bike Rack for Jay Feather

Has anyone found or modified a two bike rack for a jay feather back bumper? It looks to me like a lightweight Swagman 2 bike rack for a solid steel 4" square bumper could work on my Jay Feather bumper, if a 4x4 wood post was bolted inside the bumper between the two frame connection points. Would 90 lbs be too much weight for that bumper?

Check in your owners manual, I believe there is a statement saying what the weight limit is. It might be 100#, but I would not trust it, the Jayfeather bumpers are only held on with small welds. Lots of bouncing going on back there, it would not be fun to find out you're dragging your bikes down the road.

I bolted 2- 2’ sections of angle iron to the bottom channel of my frame and welded them to the bottom of the bumper (cantilevered). Greatly improved the carrying capacity of the bumper.

I have a swagman XTC4 bike rack and really like it. There is a 2 bike version too

The bumper is way to light to add any type of bike rack to it, without serious upgrades. My recommendation is to locate a welding shop and see if they can custom fabricate a receiver hitch to our frame. Most TT frames are to light and a reinforcement plate is required where the hitch is attached to the frame structure.

I have the Swagman XC2. It's 15 years old. It's bullet proof. We're not using it anymore only because it won't carry our ebikes.
