Brake controller

So, I'm going to p/u my TT tomorrow. Question? I have Chev Silverado w/ trailer pkg. Am I going to need the controller also for a 185RB? I think they just plug-in to my rig if I do.

If the trailer has brakes, you will need the controller. With both my Chevy 04`s it was plug and play with the Tekonsha P3 and the vehicle specific harness.

I have the pigtail and fuses as part of the trailer pkg, but not the actual controller.

one of those fuses should be for your 12v to trailer which is in the panel under the dash. Unless it was previously installed by your dealer.

As has been said you will need a controller. They will still likely need an hour to install even with the plug and play(how most service shops work) so allow some extra time tomorrow. You may have to pay more for a controller at their dealership than many other places but I guess you don't have the time

Yep.I guess it will just give me that much more time to go over the trailer.

Yep, same with my '02' Silverado 2500HD...., except I had to put a fuse in the fuse box under the hood.

Bob,
IIRC I did not have to add the fuse, must have been there on the 04`s.

Brake controller

My 2007 Sierra 2500 didn't have the fuse under the hood. I had to add it. I believe it is a 40.
