Brake Controller for Lightweight Trailer?

Hi, I'm in the market for a lightweight trailer and have my eye on Jay Feather Air or Micro. I'm ignorant about braking —*do I need a brake controller on this model or surge brakes? How should I approach the dealership about this? Thanks!

If the trailer is equipped with brakes you will need a brake controller. It's an easy aftermarket addition to your vehicle.
