What does everybody use to wash and wax their rig? I'm talking about the fiberglass/gel coat sidewalls. Thanks

Hiya George, we actually paid someone to wax our tt after we had some warranty work done when the tt was three months old (warranty included the cleaning). Short of going out to look at the receipt to see what he used, I can't remember. Sorry.

I use Gel-Gloss Heavy Duty exterior wax (about $45/gallon). Have used for a year and have 1/2 of it still.

Great results to date. It takes all black streaks etc right off. Really just wipe on and wipe off. Don't have to rub very hard at all. Great stuff from my POV.

Over the past 12 years on my former MH, I used ProtectAll. Works great, easy on and off, works on multiple surfaces and will not harm decals. I plan to use it on my new Jayco.

While I was in Middlebury, IN (Jayco factory) I asked that same question... what wax I should use on my 5th wheel trailer. Answer was; “the same wax you'd use on any plastic boat or car, like a Corvette”. Since I've owned several Corvettes in my time those words of wisdom told me what to use right off the bat. I also asked about keeping the wax off the decals as I'd been warned about that as have others. Answer on that was “not to worry, a good grade car wax for Corvettes or boats would be fine and to go ahead and wax right over the decals might even make 'em look brighter”. So, there you have it, right from the horse’s mouth... to coin a phrase.

Hope this finally answers what wax to use on Jayco travel trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes and even the body of pop-ups as it's exactly what the folks at Jayco told me to use.

I was unable to make an edit due to time limitations so....

In case anyone was wondering, I just waxed my 5'er, decals and all, and it looks great. No bubbling on the decals whatsoever as per what some said would happen. I guess those guys at the repair facility know what they're talking about. Just remember to us a good grade wax that would be OK for those expensive plastic boats and cars, i.e. Corvettes. I think I used Meguiar's Yellow Wax though I'm sure there are other waxes available.

OK you trailer/5'er/pop-up and motorhome buffs, get you wax and some clean cloths ready and "go to it". Ah, the wife will be so proud of you and will be the first to say.... *Now hon. you can wash and wax my car.

All I do is use the Blue Coral wash and wax and it looks great. Been using it for years on 3 MH's and 2 trailers.

Does waxing include the top ? Seems Ill be looking into Blue Coral or ProtectAll .....

I have brown lower trim that has off white streaks ... should remove it, right ?

What is good for the roof? Ihave a 196 and keep the trailer outside in Texas in full sun on it.
