I installed 2 - 12 Volt fans at the top of my my fridge exhaust vent / chimney. I removed the vent cover from the roof, opened the screen mounted the fans and dropped the wires down to behind the unit for the 12 Volts. Put some screening back in, replaced the vent cover and all is working great.
I used a bi-metal thermostatic switch to activate the fans. I figured hot air rises naturally, so I chose to add the fans closer to the top to help pull the hot air out of the vent. Seems to have helped quite a bit. We camped a lot this year in high 90 degree heat and the fridge and Freezer kept up just fine.

I think it is a case of “your results may vary”. I am going to try again with a dual fan in the condenser compartment but I had one in the fridge and one in the compartment of the toy hauler and they had no effect at all. I think if you are in a location where your outside temp vary they may work. When you live in an area (here) where highs are 115 and lows are 90 it won’t help much.
I mounted a computer fan outside, to blow air "up" over the coils. It was spare fan, so free. MTBF - forever. 12V, wired to the battery source at back of fridge, w/ toggle switch.

I'm in central California where high 90s are normal and todays 91 is "below normal" for this time of year. We can push 117 max I believe. Once you get to 100F you start seeing the limits of what an ammonia obsorbtion referigerator can do.
Luckily the SLX 7 I have (and older Swift equals) have the small dorm sized undercounter fridges than can cool quickly.

I looked to add fans on our Skylark 21FKV and there is no room at the access door. Can you provide information on the fans, the thermostatic switch and exactlywhere you found 12 volt power. Our Fridge has a heat pump located under it, so I can't add a wire going down to where the cabling runs are.
