Difficulty un-hitching the Weight Distribution

Difficulty un-hitching the Weight Distribution LEFT side chains hookup, it's super hard to release. The right side is easy to release. Thats after raising the Hitch to make easy. I've been out twice and I'm getting stuck releasing the Left side for about 20 minuts and bending a cheater pipe.

What am I doing wrong ???

I've found that aligning the tow vehicle with the trailer helps a lot. If the TV is at an angle from the trailer, one side or the other will be difficult to disengage. Also, stacking a couple blocks of wood, bricks, or jack pads under the tongue post will allow you to lift the front end higher. That also helps. Just make sure you don't stack them so high that you can't level the trailer once it's unhitched.

Make sure you are reasonbly level as well

Make sure you are level. Try to have your trailer in line with your truck. You may need to check the mounting brackets and make sure they have been mounted correctly. Ours was mounted, left side 22inches from the ball hitch, right side 24inches from the ball hitch this was wrong from the dealer. The short side was hard to release. corrected the mounts and all is well. Hope this helps.

Are the L&R brackets on the same spot on the A arm? I will assume that both are using the same chain link so other than what is posted above and my first comment I have no idea...

x2 on what they said make sure the brackets measure the same on both sides, make sure when the vehicle is straight with the trailer the chains are pretty much verticle when you hook them up and that the same number of links per side are utilized, and jack it high enough to relieve the pressure. Remember once one side is unhooked the other will have more pressure on it and if you haven't relieved it by raising the tongue enough it will be harder to release.

You didn't say if this is new or used trailer or hitch or if this problem just started or has been going on for some period of time (days/weeks/?).

Some more information might help someone with a similar hitch or trailer be of more help to you.
