Dometic 9100 awning how to..

Guys, there is 2 black knobs , one on each articulated arm on this awning.

Lets say the awning is open, do you tighten the knobs ?

Lets say the awning is open and its windy , do you tighten the knobs ?

I know what to do if its raining, I am just concerned about allowing the gas struts to control the awning movement or not under no to moderate wind condition

Thanks

You only need to tighten the knobs when you are adjusting the slope left or right
And loosen them off before you retract the awning.
They only came about around 6 years ago when people were complaing there was no way to adjust the awning for water runoff. Then Dometic came out with the slider piece as a free retrofit, just for one side.
Then the next generation of the 9100 had the sliders on both sides to adjust left or right.
It really was a PITA to have the adjustment on the one side when the campsites ground sloped the opposite way and the water would run back under the awning.

If it's windy you must bring it up or else it will be on the roof!!!
