Extended Warranty and Upgraded Tires

Hi, wondering if anyone gets extended warranties and if they think it's worth getting. The Dealership is offering upgraded Goodyear tires. Are they really much better? Any thoughts? Thanks!

I do not buy extended warranties. Most problems will show up during the 2 year warranty. Some people are buying them because of concerns about the auto leveling systems and the Schwintek slides.
I would seriously consider the tire upgrade. It might depend on what the original tires are and what the upgraded tires are. I have not heard bad things about the new Goodyear Endurance tires. If you have a heavy trailer the Goodyear G614 is highly recommended.

Just another way to be run through the ringer, the "court of appeals," and be schwaynked, all the while being a good boy paying your premiums! We "take it" from so many directions - No need to add another.

Never waste money on so called extended warranties, if anything set that money aside for any future problems and you will come out way ahead. What year is the trailer, is it new, the Goodyear Endurance has been part of the Mandatory Package since early this year, maybe a dealer that has switched tires to sell you back the upgrade that was included. I switched to the Goodyears mid summer and they run cool, hold pressure between trips, have been very happy with the purchase.

Sound advice, thanks Sundancer330. We're buying the 2017 Whitehawk 28MBHS. Not sure if the upgraded tires are the same in Canada as the USA, have to ask about that.

Agree. I like the Goodyear Endurance. E rating and about 3,300 miles this spring and summer. They tow beautifully and they are showing no sign of wear.

Another vote for no extended warranty here. I agree with the others that its a waste of money. I did upgrade my tires within 500 miles of towing my new camper. I feel much better towing on them then the factory supplied tires. I never hesitate to spend a bit more on tires, brakes or bearings...

Yes on the Goodyear tires, I switched out the Chinese may pops with only a couple of hundred miles on them, wanted and extra margin of safety than the marginal "C" rated tires that came with our trailer.

The 2017 models don't list the Goodyear tires in the mandatory package, did the dealer quote you a price, will they let you keep the swap tires to resell.

I looked through a few of the brochures we have. In the 2017 White Hawk brochure it doesn't say anything about tire upgrades but in the 2018 White Hawk brochure it states that in the "Customer Value Package" you get American - made Goodyear Endurance radial tires. We went to the dealership on Saturday and we didn't talk about upgraded tires. They're closed on Sundays and it was the Labour Day holiday up here today so I'll have to call tomorrow and find out the tire situation.

No for the extended warranty here and have towed 5K miles on the Goodyear Endurance tires this season and have no complaints with them.

I'll be picking up our 2017 White Hawk 28 DSBH this weekend with the same Good Year Endurance tire upgrade without the extended warrenty! Makes more sense to start putting that money asside for any problems down the road!

Always get the best possible tires for your trailer and tow vehicle...................the only things that make ground contact.

We have a 2017 Eagle and during that model year, they offered a 16" Maxxis tire upgrade, which I have. If I remember correctly, towards the end of the 2017 model year, the Maxxis tires were replaced by the Goodyears. In 2018, the tire "upgrade" to the Goodyear's were made mandatory.

DO NOT get a Camping World Extended Warranty... We have one and have had nothing but problems with them getting the work done.

Nothing to reflect on Jayco - that warranty is much different and better.
